New Delhi.  Constitution bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Tuesday (September 5) reserved its verdict on a batch of petitions challenging Centre’s 2019 decision to revoke Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories.

Five-judge Constitution bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, and Surya Kant reserves the judgement after hearing the arguments for 16 days.

The hearing, which started on August 2, 2023, witnessed extensive arguments and discussions by both the petitioners and government over a span of sixteen days.
