
Kolhapur – Islamists attacks school bus as students chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’
Not only adults but even innocent school going kids require prioritized security from the attacks of Islamic radicals. In a shocking incident, which has come forth from Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj’s Kolhapur, Islamic radicals hurled stones at school bus after students travelling in the vehicle chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
The incident took place at 5 pm on Wednesday (31 Jan), in the Dussehra Chowk area of the city. The horrific incident left students traumatised, with fortunately no students being injured.
The State Transport bus in Maharashtra was transporting students from a local school on an excursion when the incident unfolded.
As the bus reached Kolhapur’s Dussehra Chowk, students inside began chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans. In response to the chants, an unknown miscreant standing on the road hurled a stone at the bus from the rear side before swiftly fleeing the scene.
“When the bus reached Dussehra Chowk, students inside it chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans. Following the chants, a miscreant standing on the road hurled a stone at the bus from the rear side and ran away,” said Mahendra Pandit, Superintendent of Police, Kolhapur.
He said an offence is being registered in connection with the incident and a police team is scanning CCTV footage of the area to identify the stone-pelter.
While no injuries were reported among the students, the incident has raised concerns about the safety of students during excursions.
