
Rastriya Sayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday (17, Dec, 2017) said the RSS is not a front for any political party and it is often misinterpreted.
Mohan Bhagwat, who is on a five-day visit to Tripura, on Sunday said RSS, believes in defending the rights of every Indian and end to all atrocities. While addressing saints in Agartala, he said: “India is a multi-religious and multicultural country where every citizen has the right to make his own choice and Sangh does not believe in interfering with the individual liberty. However, Sangh is committed to protecting the mother country.”
Sarsanghchalak said: “RSS conducts Sakhas on every day basis with the volunteers. Sakha is about physical and mental workout. It has nothing to do with religion.”
He urged the Hindus to get organised and trained at RSS “shakhas”, saying these were the only places where one could get ready for nation-building and self-development. He expressed his concern over the atrocities and violence on Hindu across the country, including Tripura state. The “sanatan dharma” wants to work jointly with everybody on board, Anybody living in India is a Hindu, he said at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan in the heart of Tripura’s capital.
He also met organizational heads of different Sangh organizations of North East India including Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya.
