Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claims that the changing demography in the State remains a big issue for him. The saffron government chief argued that Muslim population reached 40% in Assam.
In 1951, it was 12% and by now we have lost many districts. It’s not a political issue for me, but a serious matter of life & death, asserted Sarma.
A few days back, the outspoken politician stated that criminal activities engineered by the people from a particular religion worry him. He also added that the Bangladesh origin minority community residents voted for Congress in the general elections 2024 and they even forgot that the BJP-led governments in New Delhi and Dispur were tirelessly working for the benefit of minority families.
