Kochi (VSK). Guguloth Laxman, the Inspector General of Police, Kerala, alleges that an invisible hand controls the operations in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) including financial dealings. The IG raised the allegation in the petition he filed before the High Court of Kerala praying to remove him as the third accused in Monson Mavunkal’s infamous fake antique scandal. Laxman alleges that an extraordinary and extra-constitutional power in the CMO mediates in some financial dealings and bring conciliations. This ‘power’ even mediates in the cases which Kerala High Court left for the arbitrations. He continues his allegation that the same ‘power’ operated from behind the scene and instructed the Crime Branch to trap him in the ‘antique’ case.
Laxman is the IG-in-charge of police training, under General Administration Section. Court has sought the government’s opinion in view of the petition of Laxman. The petition reads that the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) who led the Special Investigation Team for ‘antique scandal’ had submitted an affidavit before the High Court that senior police officers were not involved in it.
BJP and the opposition parties have been raising allegations against this ‘extra-constitutional power’ since long. Now, a senior police officer has come with the allegation. That means, the invisible power is omnipotent too.
Meanwhile, S. Surendran, Retd. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, has been arrested in connection with the aforementioned scandal.
