Ludhiana Court Complex IED Blast Case – NIA Attaches Immovable Properties of 4 Accused
Chandigarh/New Delhi. NIA on Tuesday attached five immovable properties of four accused in the 2021 Ludhiana court complex bomb blast case.
The explosion had killed the IED bomb handler, identified as Gagandeep Singh, and injured six other persons on 23rd December 2021.
Following detailed investigations in the case, and acting on orders of the NIA Special Court, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab, the agency has now attached the properties of Surmukh Singh @ Sammu (Total 15 Kanal 19 Marla at village Kotli Khera), Dilbagh Singh @ Baggo ((Total land 27 Kanal 16 Marla at village Chack Allah Baksh), Harpreet Singh @ Happy Malaysia (Total land 27 Kanal 01 Marla at village Miadi Kalan and land 15 Marla at village Bakha Hari Singh) and Rajanpreet Singh (Total land 15 Kanal 18 Marla at village Kolowall) in tehsil Lopoke, Amrtisar, under section 33 (1) of UA(P) Act.
NIA investigations had revealed that the explosion was carried out on the directions of Pakistan-based ISYF Chief Lakhbir Singh Rode. The IED used in the blast was sent by Rode into Punjab via the cross-border smuggling route. He had conspired with Zulfikar @ Pehalwan, a Pakistan based cross-border arms-explosives-narcotics smuggler, as well as Harpreet Singh@ Happy Malaysia, Surmukh Singh @ Sammu, Dilbagh Singh and Rajanpreet Singh to form a terror gang to carry out blasts and smuggle arms into the Indian territory.
The case, originally registered by the local police, was taken over by NIA in January 2022 and re-registered under various sections of IPC, Explosives Act and UA (P) Act and Prevention of Damage Public to Property Act.
