NIA team raided three locations in Chennai in connection with the ‘The Rameshwaram Cafe’ blast case in Bengaluru. On March 1, a blast occurred at the cafe in Brookefield, Bengaluru, injuring ten people, including eatery staff and customers.
The raid was conducted based on secret information that two suspects linked to the case resided in Chennai.
The main accused in the case has been identified but has yet to be arrested. The NIA has identified Musavir Hussain Shajib, a resident of Shivamogga in Karnataka, as the main accused. The investigation team has reviewed over ten thousand various video footages to identify the suspects.
Based on CCTV video footage, it was observed that the accused arrived at the spot wearing a cap and mask. NIA investigations also revealed connections to individuals associated with ISIS behind the attack.
NIA identified that 11 individuals directly linked to the attack resided in Thirthahalli, Shivamogga district. NIA stated that all accused involved in the attack would be arrested soon.
