Chhattisgarh – Maoists Brutally Strangle Innocent Farmer in Kanker

Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

In yet another instance of Maoist brutality, a young man was mercilessly strangled to death by Maoists in a remote village of Kanker district. The incident, which took place just 300 metres from his house, has sent shockwaves across the region.

The deceased, identified as a young farmer named Rakesh Jadey, was forcefully taken from his home by a group of Maoists, including one woman and four men. They reportedly dragged him into a nearby forest area, where they executed him by strangulation. This cold-blooded murder has added to the growing list of innocent civilians who have fallen victim to Maoist violence.

The victim’s father, overwhelmed with grief, has vehemently denied any allegations of his son’s involvement with the police or security forces.

“My son was a simple farmer, working hard to cultivate his land. He had no connection with the government or any anti-Maoist operations,” he said.

According to him, the Maoists suspected his son of being an informant for the police, which he asserts was a false accusation. “He was dragged away from his home, tortured, and killed without reason. The Maoists have taken away an innocent life,” the father added tearfully.

The villagers who witnessed the abduction of Rakesh Jadey are in shock.

“They are becoming more ruthless by the day,” said a villager who requested anonymity out of fear of Maoist retaliation. This incident occurred in the same region where numerous attacks by Maoists have taken place over the years, creating an atmosphere of fear and helplessness among residents.

In a chilling message left behind after the murder, the Maoists claimed that Rakesh was targeted for allegedly aiding the security forces, a claim that the villagers and his family strongly refute.

This brutal murder highlights the ever-present danger that villagers face in Maoist-affected areas. The Maoists have increasingly targeted civilians, branding them as police informers or government agents, leading to a sharp rise in killings of innocent people. The need for a robust and sustained crackdown on Maoist terrorism has never been more urgent.

While protests in Delhi call for justice and action, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to this growing threat. The blood of the innocent continues to be shed, and the cries for justice grow louder with each passing day.
