Congress MLA Sherman Ali vows to take revenge against Hindus, who identifies illegal encroachers once BJP is out of power
Guwahati: Congress MLA in Assam Sherman Ali wants to take revenge against Hindus, who are helping the government by identifying encroachers of land belonging to Satras once the BJP is out of power in the state.
The Controversial Congress MLA Sherman Ali vows to take tough revenge for the ongoing eviction drive against illegal immigrant settlers once the BJP government is out of power in Assam. Trying to create communal enmity, MLA Sherman said in front of a huge Muslim gathering in Barpeta district that no one can evict the illegal settlers in his constituency till he is alive. The people who are trying to evict the migrant Muslim by providing information to the government will have to face dire consequences once BJP is out of power, he said.
Going one step ahead, the communal MLA Sherman uprooted all the boundary posts of the land belonging to the Vaishnavite monastery Barpeta Satra in the Baghbar area. 10 acres of land belonging to the Satra was encroached by the migrant Muslims in Bordoloni village in the Barpeta district. Satra authority, with the help of district administration, demarcated the land recently and installed concrete posts in the boundaries. MLA Sherman, who was jailed for his communal activities, on Monday (January 31) went to the demarcated land and uprooted all the boundary posts with the help of his supporters. Satradhikar of Barpeta Satra Basisth Sharma said, “We approached the government to evict the encroached land of the Satra and accordingly, with the help of the administration, we demarcated and installed boundary posts in the land. But MLA Sherman uprooted all the boundary posts, we saw videos where Sherman Ali kicked the posts installed by Satra authority. It feels like he kicked in our chest.”
In a viral video, MLA Sherman told the gathering that the BJP government would last for only five years, and after that, we will take tough revenge for these evictions. Meanwhile, the Barpeta Satra authority has filed a complaint against the controversial MLA in Barpeta Sadar police station. In the FIR, the Satra authority mentioned that Sherman Ali is trying to create communal enmity with his communal comments and insulted the religious feeling of the thousands of disciples of the historic Satra by kicking the boundary posts at the Satra land and instigated the migrant Muslims to violet the law of the land. It should be mentioned that MLA Sherman Ali, in August 2021, tried to create communal unrest in the state by comparing the martyrs of Assam agitation with killers.
