Kochi. CPM State Secretary MV Govindan has issued a warning to media channels, stating that he will pursue legal action if they persist in conducting an “anti-government, anti-SFI campaign.”
Govindan’s remarks came in response to the recent case filed against Asianet News Chief Reporter Akhila Nandakumar, who reported on discrepancies regarding the examination results of SFI State Secretary PM Arsho.
As per media reports, Govindan asserted that similar cases have been registered in the past, and he urged media houses to stay within the boundaries of their defined roles.
“The case against the reporter is for allegedly conspiring to declare a student as ‘pass’ in an examination, despite the recorded marks being zero. The charges are related to involvement in this alleged conspiracy,” Govindan stated, emphasizing that there was no need to delve into the details of the FIR to understand the nature of the case.
The incident revolves around the revelation that PM Arsho was declared ‘pass’ on Maharaja’s College website, despite not having appeared for any of the examinations. Akhila Nandakumar’s report shed light on this discrepancy, prompting legal action against her.
