Historic Milestone – Over 1 million Tourists Took Gulmarg Gondola Ride in One Year

Srinagar. For the first time in history, over a million tourists experienced the world-famous Gulmarg Gondola Ride in a single Year, generating a revenue of over Rs 110 crore.

“Gulmarg Gondola soars to new heights! For the first time ever more than 1 million tourists took the Gulmarg Gondola Cable Car Ride in FY 2023-24. Revenue crosses more than 110 Crores. J&K Tourism sees unprecedented growth which continues to surpass all previous figures,” J&K Tourism Department shared on X.

In recent years, despite enduring terrorism, things in J&K seem to be returning to normal. Following the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, there has been a significant increase in tourists visiting Kashmir due to the improved situation.

The number of tourists for the Gulmarg Gandola Ride in FY 2021-22 was 600,000, which increased to 850,000 in 2022-23. The figure for 2023-24 created history.

The figures presented by the J&K Tourism Department clearly indicate that due to the improvement in security arrangements, there has been a significant increase in tourist attraction towards Kashmir, as evidenced by the direct evidence of the figures of Gulmarg Gondola ride.
