Damoh, June 23: In yet another case of Love Jihad in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh, a similar case has come to light where Umar Farooq posing as Raju trapped a Hindu girl and further forced her to convert to Islam and marry her. After the identity of the boy was revealed, the girl somehow returned to her home after saving her life.
A Hindu woman from Damoh went to work in a private company in Bengaluru, Karnataka under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. The girl met a Muslim man who told his name as Raju. Gradually both of them became friends and then the girl started loving Raju.
Raju not only assaulted the girl for many months but also took all the documents of the girl in his possession. The accused also made obscene photos and videos of the girl and kept harassing the girl. Farooq also forced her to convert to Islam and pressurized her to marry.
One day, the victim found the Aadhaar card of the accused which had his name as Umar Farooq — a resident of Assam. She got frightened and returned back to Damoh and narrated her ordeal to her family members. After which the family members decided to complain about the whole matter to the police station.
A complaint has been registered in Damoh. According to the Damoh police, a case has been registered on the basis of the statements of the girl and it is clear that the boy disguised as a Hindu trapped the girl and then converted her and was pressurizing her to marry.
After registering a case against the accused Umar Farooq, police teams are being sent to Karnataka and Assam to arrest him so that the accused can be arrested soon.
Taking swift action on the complaint of a Damoh-based woman, a team of MP police is likely to leave for Bangalore today evening to arrest a love jihad accused,” Home Minister Narottam Mishra said while speaking to media on Friday. The home minister said that the team of police will leave for Bengaluru to arrest the accused.
