GUWAHATI, March 27
Assam region (kshetra) secretary of RSS Dr Umesh Chakravartty said “Hindus are not foreigners in Hindustan, They integrate with the culture. Persecuted Hindus have come here even from Uganda(Country in East Africa) . They have come not only to the state Assam, but to other states as well. But it is up to the Central Government to settle them.
We are not saying they should be settled in Assam only,” RSS is not making an open appeal to the entire Hindu section in Bangladesh to migrate to India. “In fact, we want the Central administration to take up the matter of security of Hindus in that country with the Bangladesh administration so that there is no more persecution and Hindus are not forced to flee.
Such a situation should not arise in any country and the Indian government should do the needful,”
Blaming Partition for the present circumstances, he said the country was divided on spiritual lines and “people are still suffering because of the decision which was taken despite resentment within the nation.” Condemning the Silapathar violence, The RSS leader said the incident was part of a conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere. He said the new dispensation had been initiating some important steps like the eviction in Kaziranga national park which no other government had done. “We feel the Silapathar incident could be a conspiracy to spoil the good atmosphere which was building up after the formation of this new government in Assam.
Police should act against the criminals and punish all those involved,” he said rubbishing news that mastermind of the incident Subodh Biswas had links with some rastriya swayamsevak sangh leaders. Dr Chakravartty, insisted that “Hindus are those people who live in Hindustan, those who have adopted the country’s culture, those who can give up all for the country, those who perform their duties as an Indian citizen… irrespective of the religious place he or she visits or religion one follows.” The RSS leadership also expressed concern at the rising jihadi activities in ASSAM and in WestBengal which was a “grave threat to nationwide security.”
