Mumbai. Hailing from a Sangh Family at Girgau, Mumbai, Jayantji was a Sangh Pracharak since 1989, after he resigned his job from BARC.
After many assignments as Pracharak across Maharashtra, he was Vibhag Pracharak of Goa and later Konkan Prant Pracharak from 2001 -2009. In 2009, he assumed responsibility in Vijnana Bharati. He has been the National Organizing Secretary of Vijnana Bharati for nearly a decade now.
An intellectual, he brought out the powerful narrative of Struggle for Swatantrata and Science, on the powerful role played several Indian scientists like Acharya Jagdish Chandra Basu, Prafulla Chandra Ray, Mahendralal Sircar, Meghnad Saha etc. He also spoke about Vivekananda and Science, Bharatiya kala Gyana and the national calendar, Patrick Geddes and Bhagini Nivedita, Science in Indian Art forms and Environment.
Soft spoken, yet a great orator, Jayantji was extremely disciplined in both his personal and public life. Active every moment of wakeful hours, he was traveling across the country, covering around 600 kms a day for many years now spreading the message of Vijnana Bharati.
He met with an accident on the morning of 3rd September, 2022 at Ghaziabad. Though unconscious since then there was very slow improvement till a couple of weeks back. But some complications arose in the last few days and he breathed his last today morning 4am.
