India fighting COVID19 very strongly- Prime Minister Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on tuesday said that India is going ahead fighting COVID19. And India has so far been able to avert considerable damage because of the sacrifices made by the people of India.
In his address to the nation he said- “India’s fight against the Corona global epidemic is moving ahead very strongly. Because of your sacrifice so far, India had been able to avert considerable damage from Coronavirus. I know how many problems you had to face. Somebody has trouble getting food, somebody has trouble commuting and someone is away from home”.
But for the sake of the country, you are performing your duties like a disciplined soldier. This is the power which is inherent in- We The People of India- in our constitution. On the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb, this demonstration of our collective power and this resolution is a true tribute to him”.
The Prime Minister on Saturday held a meeting with all the Chief Ministers of the states through video conferance and consulted with them regarding the extention of Lockdown period as COVID19 cases are rising. In the meeting the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that a consensus was built on extending the period of Lockdown for another two weeks. Prime Minister Modi further said that, earlier the motto of the government was- Jaan hai toh jahaan hai, but now it is- Jaan bhi Jahaan bhi.
The Chief Ministers of Punjab, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Tamilnadu and Puducherry have already announced the extension of Lockdown in their respective states.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported that the total number of COVID19 positive cases in India as of now stands at-10,363 including 8,988 active cases, 1,035 cured/discharged and 339 deaths.
