Literature and Art Impart Ideas and Culture to Society – Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji
Tapasya Golden Jubilee celebrations Begins
Kochi, Kerala.
Literature and art are vital in imparting ideas and culture to society, said RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji. He was inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of Tapasya Kala Sahitya Vedi at Rajendra Maidan, Ernakulam. He emphasized that Tapasya, which is completing 50 years, is not just significant for writers and artists but is relevant to social life as a whole.
“The philosophy that Bharat presents is Atmano Mokshartham Jagat Hitaya Cha (liberation of the self and welfare of the world). Truth, compassion, purity, and penance are the foundation of dharma. Social life becomes meaningful and successful when built on these four pillars. We must take up the responsibility of rebuilding life based on these principles and cultivate these virtues in every individual,” Sarsanghchalak Ji said.
“Our tradition is based on Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family). We must develop our national life as a model for the world, grounded in this heritage. This can be achieved through art and literature.” Recalling the origin of the first Sanskrit shloka, he said, “The verse Ma Nishada was born out of the pain Maharshi Valmiki felt when he witnessed a bird being struck by an arrow”.
“The world looks to Bharat with great hope. Tapasya has the duty to prepare the literary and artistic community to meet that expectation. It must also equip its members to take on this responsibility,” he said.
Renowned literary critic Asha Menon presided over the event. Sanskar Bharati National President Mysuru Manjunath, Tapasya State Working President Prof. P.G. Haridas, and General Secretary K.T. Ramachandran also spoke on the occasion.
Tapasya’s founder M.A. Krishnan, Sanskar Bharati’s organizational secretary Abhijit Gokhale, and Bharatiya Vichar Kendra Director R. Sanjayan were among the attendees.
Sarsanghchalak Ji honored prominent personalities from the fields of literature and art with Tapasya’s tribute.
