
National Conference on 300th Birth Anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar
Pune. A national conference has been organized at Chaundi (District Ahilyanagar) on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar. The conference, which will be held from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday, February 9, will be attended by 400 achiever women from across the country, said Executive Chairman of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha Ravindra Dev.
He was speaking at a press conference held at the Shramik Patrakar Sangh in Navi Peth. Prant Sanyojak of Ahilyadevi Holkar Birth Tricentenary Celebration Committee Mahesh Rao Karpe was also present on the occasion.
Dev further said that the year 2025 is the year of the birth tricentenary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar. A special program has been organized at her native village Chaundi by ‘Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar Tricentenary Celebration Committee’ to mark this occasion. Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU, New Delhi) Dr. Shantishree Pandit will inaugurate the event. The concluding session will be addressed by Lokmata Ahilyadevi Holkar Tricentenary Celebration Committee’s Secretary Captain Meera Dave. He said that Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Sanstha is co-host of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Rao Karpe said that the programme will mark a tribute to Punyashlok Ahilyadevi and ideological churning in the interest of the nation.
A seminar involving Chinmayi Sule on public welfare and good governance of Ahilyadevi, Dr. Malati Thakur on religious work and national perspective, Dr. Ujjwala Chakradev on Ahilyadevi’s architecture, Aditi Paswan on social reforms, Nayana Sahasrabuddhe on Women Empowerment will also be held.
There will be group discussions on various topics, dance dramas, exhibitions on the work of Ahilyadevi as well. Attendees will include women representing a variety of fields, including administration, religion, industry, academics and social work. The day’s event will also include a cultural programme which will be attended by eminent women from across the country. The purpose of this initiative is to design and build constructive works in various geographical and social areas, inspired by the life of Punyashloka Ahilyadevi.
