Tapasya’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations Inaugurated; Cultural Luminaries Honored
Kochi, Kerala. The golden jubilee celebrations of Tapasya Kala Sahitya Vedi commenced with grandeur and elegance. RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji hoisted the flag, marking the beginning of the festivities in the presence of prominent figures from the fields of Malayalam art and literature. The event held at Ernakulam Rajendra Maidan was a true cultural festival, adorned with traditional percussion ensembles and captivating dance performances.
Speaking at the event, Sanskar Bharati National President Mysuru Manjunath said, “This stage filled with talented artists and literary figures feels like Indra’s court to me”. He added that although he never officially took charge of Tapasya, his 70 years of writing share the same ideals that Tapasya promotes. Renowned critic Asha Menon, who presided over the function, expressed his deep affection for Tapasya, saying, “I love Tapasya and will never forget this platform. Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s vision for the future of Bharat is truly great. By 2050, our nation may achieve significant progress, but environmental challenges will be a serious concern. A generation is growing up without familiarity with music, literature, or meditation. If they become weak in spirit, the nation’s future will be bleak. Earth is the only habitable planet in the universe, and we must pass it on safely to future generations. This is where Mohan Bhagwat’s vision of environmental conservation becomes highly relevant”, Asha Menon remarked.
State committee member Dr. Lakshmidas recited Vishwarani, a poem by the late Parameswarji, which called on the audience to take an oath to make Bharat Vishwa Guru.
Renowned personalities, including Kathakali maestro Sadanam Krishnankutty, percussion legend Peruvanam Kuttan Marar, literary critic Asha Menon, Padma Shri awardee Kalamandalam Kshemavathy, Nadaswaram virtuoso Thiruvizha Jayashankar, music director Ouseppachan, Padma Shri awardee Ramachandra Pulavar, Theyyam artist Theeyadi Raman, artists T. Kaladharan and Madanan, veteran journalist and former Tapasya president P. Balakrishnan, screenwriter Udaykrishna, and theatre director M.K. Devarajan were honored on stage by the RSS Sarsanghchalak Ji.
