Mr. Pankaj Deka, a social entrepreneur from Nagaon, ASSAM, won the prestigious “GLOBAL YOUTH APPRECIATION AWARD 2016” for his outstanding contribution for the youth development across the country in the “world youth conference – 2016” Youth for Sustainable Development held from 12th —14th November 2016, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi- India.
Together 800 participants from 130+ countries participated in the conference, 350 of them came from marginalized backgrounds, making the summit one of the most well represented youth events at the global level. A minimum of three official youth delegates were selected by the country coordinator from each country.
In addition to this, 200 more young people belonging to under-represented groups were selected by the International Country Coordinator. Furthermore, As many as 300 Indian youth delegates from 29 states also participated in the event.
