Kochi (VSK). Kerala High Court (HC) criticised Malabar Dewaswom Board (DB) in sharp terms for ordering the temples to donate Rs 15,000 towards advertisement for the supplement to be brought out in connection with the inauguration of dialysis centre under Kadampuzha temple in Malappuram district.
High Court told DB that temples are not cooperative societies formed for money collection. It asked DB if they believe that money can be collected from the temples like fund-raising for political activities. Court asked action against the DB Commissioner who issued the controversial order. Commissioner issued the order on May 2, 2023.
Court asked if people would have come to know about Commissioner’s order if the petitioner had not approached the Court. Commissioner’s Order was stayed by the Division Bench.
The Court order vindicates the allegation RSS, BJP and other Hindu organisations have been raising that DBs turn offshoots of political parties and temples go under the control of political leaders. Now, since the CPM-led Left Democratic Front rules the state, DBs are manned by LDF leaders. And, unfortunately atheist communists call the shots in temple matters. The latest episode underlines this assumption.
